• Political & Advocacy Consulting

Christine’s guidance in crafting qualitative research on complex human rights issues in an authoritarian context made her integral to our programming. She was able to build trust among human rights defenders in Russia and successfully engage them in constructive dialogue. Her research and analysis have been critical in helping us achieve our advocacy goals.

Actionable and User-Friendly Reporting

Christine Quirk relies on her experience as a US-based pollster and political consultant and the insight gained living and working in complicated political environments to turn quantitative or qualitative data into strategic, actionable reports. We make sure every question we ask is not just interesting, but also supports the research goal.

We believe you shouldn’t have to be involved with a project from the beginning to understand the findings and recommendations. Nor should you have to be a statistician. Our strategic reports are well-written and user-friendly, using the latest data visualization techniques.

At QGS, we believe that if your data sit on a shelf collecting dust, or your activists don’t understand the findings and how to integrate them into programming, you’ve wasted your money.

Research-Driven Advocacy Succeeds

Giving citizens a voice at the table when decisions are being about campaign strategy is the first and most important step toward success. No matter who your target audience is, QGS can identify the best tool to collect their opinions.

We are particularly skilled at helping our clients understand how surveys, focus groups and other methodologies can be used to identify the most salient issues for their audience and develop engaging messages.

Success stories

Ukraine: Qualitative research implemented and analyzed by QGS in 2018 revealed that Ukrainians lack basic information about the lives and challenges of LGBTQI Ukrainians. These findings revealed identifiable target groups who, if presented with factual information and personal stories from the community, became more supportive of equal rights. QGS tested the subsequent public outreach campaign, the groundbreaking  Rizni.Rivni, among activists and target audiences alike. This award-winning campaign has laid the groundwork for advocacy efforts to establish civil partnerships in Ukraine. Despite the war, advocacy on this issue continues.

Russia: Quirk Global Strategies collaborated with Human Rights House Foundation on 2021’s Crisis Point in Russia. This report, for which QGS interviewed 15 leading Russian human rights defenders about the closing space for activism, laid the groundwork for HRHF’s successful advocacy campaign to push the UN to create a special rapporteur for Russia.

QGS also interviewed more than 20 displaced Ukrainian, Belarusian, Azerbaijani and Russian human rights defenders in 2022 about the wartime challenges they face for a future HRHF advocacy report.

Worldwide: QGS is proud of its decade-long cooperation with Global Health Advocacy Incubator (GHAI) to provide research in support of anti-tobacco, road safety and anti-obesity advocacy projects that have resulted in life-saving policy changes around the world:
